Prescription Refills

Time for a refill? Many patients are prescribed medications to help manage their disease. Some of these medications can be prescribed with several refills, and some medications require follow-up with your physician to obtain a refill. Due to the large volume of calls received by the clinics, the most efficient way to obtain a physician’s order for regularly prescribed medications is as follows:

• Check your medications before a regularly scheduled appointment with your physician, making note of any refills you will need. Let your physician know which prescriptions you need refilled.
• If you need a prescription between visits to your physician, it is best to call your pharmacy. The pharmacist will fill your prescription, and if needed, will contact your physician’s office to obtain any additional information to fill your prescription.
